MEMBER ELIGIBILITY
For a person to be eligible to become a member of the WA Police Legacy (Inc) they must be:
- A serving or retired member, of the Western Australian Police Service holding or having held a position which is or designated under the Police Act of Western Australia as the position of a Police Officer. This shall include persons who are engaged in employment and/or training designed or intended to lead to membership of the Western Australia Police Service and whose membership application to WA Police Legacy, the Board has accepted.
- A surviving spouse means a person in necessitous circumstances whose spouse, whether legal or defacto, is a deceased person or totally and permanently incapacitated, who was at the time of death or disability eligible for membership as defined in paragraph (1).
BENEFICIARIES
A person to be eligible to be a beneficiary of the WA Police Legacy (Inc) must be:
- A surviving spouse, or child of a member of WA Police Legacy Inc.
- Child or Children means a person or persons whether minor or not whose father or mother is a deceased and shall include a son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter adopted child or any child or children wholly dependent on the deceased person at the time of his or her death.
