The annual children’s camp is held at Perth Legacy on Caves Road Busselton.
The campsite is well equipped with dormitory style accommodation, mess room, supervisor accommodation and recreational parks and halls. Ideal for the rest and recreation of the aging widows of deceased servicemen.
During January this normally quiet facility moves into top gear. Serving and retired members of the armed services move in with trucks, tents, cargo nets, ropes and goodwill. Their goal is to ensure that the children of the deceased Services personnel enjoy themselves, grow in personal esteem and share their sad loss with others of similar fate.
The WA Police Legacy has been invited into this family to share the same experience and growth. In 2003, the camp was attended by a number of W A Police Legacy children and two serving Police Officers and were provided a red carpet welcome.
The children were involved in Zodiac water exercises, ocean sailing, abseiling, bush walking, night survival activities and general team building sports on cargo nets and ropes.
Each year in October expressions of interest are called from eligible children to attend with volunteer serving Police Officers.
