Join us for a meaningful weekend on the road as we bring together the WA Police Force family in a visible display of fellowship, mateship and support.
The WA Police Legacy Motorcycle Ride is an opportunity for serving and retired members, families, friends and supporters to come together as one Blue Family, strengthening connection and recognising the importance of standing beside one another during times of need.
This year’s ride is dedicated to all serving and retired members of the WA Police Force family, and their close family members, who have been affected by serious illness. We recognise the challenges faced not only by those living with illness, but also by the loved ones within our Blue Family who support them every day. We also pause to remember those who have sadly lost their battle with illness. Together, their experiences remind us of the importance of connection, compassion and standing beside one another during life’s most difficult challenges.
Upon arrival in Albany, a small commemorative service will be held at Albany Police Station to honour the memory of First-Class Constable Bill Pense, who was killed in Mount Barker in 1979, and Detective Senior Constable Charlie Scott, who was killed in Albany in 1996. This service will provide an opportunity for riders and guests to pause, reflect and pay tribute to their service and sacrifice.
There is no registration fee to participate in the ride. Participants are asked to register for planning purposes and are encouraged to consider making a voluntary donation to WA Police Legacy. All funds raised will help WA Police Legacy continue supporting the families of fallen officers, as well as members facing significant personal or health challenges.
Accommodation for the WA Police Legacy Motorcycle Ride is to be booked directly by riders and guests at their own cost. We are pleased to advise that the Hilton Garden Inn and Dog Rock Motel are supporting the event by offering a special accommodation rate for participants.
This ride reflects the values of WA Police Legacy. Compassion, Integrity, Respect and Trust and reinforces the role we all play in supporting those who have served and those who continue to face adversity.
